Welcome to the
DA Blair Connection
Home Page
This page is dedicated to the Geneology Research for my Grandfather, D.A. Blair (1854-1930).
I know little of my Grandfather, he passed on long before I was born. It is because of him that I am, so I would like to know more about this man, where he came from and who his ancestors were.
New:
We have found that DA Blair was originally born David A Burdette in Chambers County Alabama. His mother was Nancy Blair Burdette. Census records in 1860 show David A Burdette living with his Grandmother Mary Blair and his mother Nancy Burdette (1850 Records show her as Nancy Blair). There were several Burdette Families living in Chambers County in 1860. Apparently David took his mother's maiden name sometime between 1860 and 1873 when he was married to Catherine Grady in Troup County, Georgia. (It's just across the state line from Chambers County, Alabama.) Here is a copy of the Marriage certificate from Troup County, Georgia. Family stories tell that DA met Lou Terry when she and a friend went to DA's house to clean it after his 1st wife died.
Further research has found that in the 1850 Chambers County Alabama Census: ======|=============|=================================|=========
